Alberta Election 2015: NDP’s Marie Renaud wins St. Albert

Marie Renaud has taken the riding of St. Albert for the NDP.

Renaud won with just over half of the vote in early results. The PC incumbent and former minister of Service Alberta, Stephen Khan, had 32 per cent.

Voters in the St. Albert riding have elected PC candidates the last two elections, but elected Liberal candidates in 1993 and 2004, along with the NDP in 1986.

The riding contains most of the city of St. Albert, with the exception of those areas north of McKenney Avenue and west of Highway 2.

Candidates:

  • Progressive Conservative: Stephen Khan (Incumbent)
  • NDP: Marie Renaud
  • Wildrose: Shelley Biermanski
  • Liberal: Bill Alton
  • Alberta Party: Trevor Love
