Alberta Election 2015: NDP’s Jon Carson wins Edmonton-Meadowlark

The NDP’s Jon Carson has taken the riding of Edmonton-Meadowlark.

This constituency, on the western edge of Edmonton, has been held by Liberal MLA – and former Liberal leader – Raj Sherman, who was not seeking re-election.

In early results, Carson had crushed his competition, winning 64 per cent of the vote, with 12 per cent of polls reporting. The closest competition, the PC’s Katherine O’Neill, had only 17 per cent.

The riding includes the communities of Glendale, West Lawn, West Meadowlark, Thornclifee, La Perle, Belmead, Lewis Estates, Park West, Summerlea, Terra Losa, Aldergrove, Westview Village and Secord.
