Man charged after home invasion, sexual assault in Saskatoon

SASKATOON – A man is facing multiple charges after a Saskatoon home invasion and sexual assault. It happened during the early morning hours of April 12.

The suspect fled before police arrived at the home in the Fairhaven neighbourhood.

Forensic evidence led police to the suspect, a 20-year-old man. He was arrested on Tuesday by members of the sex crimes and child abuse units.

He appeared in Saskatoon provincial court on Wednesday on charges of break and enter, robbery with a weapon, sexual assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace, carrying a concealed weapon and breach of undertakings. His name has not been released.

Police say the victim and suspect do not known each other.
