NORTH BATTLEFORD, Sask. – A Saskatchewan woman is facing a number of charges, including impaired driving, after a brief chase with Mounties. The chase late Monday evening ended after the woman rammed a police cruiser.
North Battleford Mounties received a 911 call around 11 p.m. that someone was driving the wrong way into the city. Police caught up with the vehicle on Railway Avenue East where a brief chase took place.
In an effort to elude Mounties, the woman turned into the drive-through of a restaurant. She ended up ramming a police cruiser that was blocking the exit.
Police say no one was injured but the front end of the vehicle was damaged.
Krystal Opikokew, 27, was arrested and charged with impaired driving while over .08, dangerous driving, flight from police and assaulting a police officer. Opikokew, who is from Battleford, made her first court appearance on Tuesday.
