Man charged with fraud after vehicle sales in two Sask. communities

SASKATOON – A vehicle fraud investigation in two communities south of Saskatoon has led to charges against a North Battleford man. Mounties launched an investigation into Darian Blondeau on April 3 after receiving a fraud complaint into a private vehicle sale in Shields that took place on March 23.

Global News first reported on the investigation on April 5 after Chad Pysden and his partner Jaclyn Sander said they were allegedly scammed out of $6,000. Pysden told Global News the cheque they received on the sale of the truck bounced.

Another complaint was filed on April 7, this one alleging fraud in a private sale in Dundurn on March 21.

Blondeau, 22, is facing six charges:

  • two counts of fraud;
  • one count of obtaining by false pretences property over $5000.00;
  • one count of a false statement in writing;
  • two counts of breach of probation.

Blondeau was scheduled to appear in Saskatoon provincial court on Friday to answer to the charges.
