Major blaze destroys former Moe’s Deli & Bar

MONTREAL- A major fire at a former Moe’s Deli on the corner of Sherbrooke Street and d’Orléans, in Hochelaga Maissoneuve brought out about 70 firefighters.

The blaze broke out just before four in the morning.

The fire destroyed much of the building, but was under control by 7:30 this morning.

The one-time restaurant was being renovated and turned into housing.

Now it will just be torn down.

According to the Montreal Fire Department, it is too early to know the cause of the fire.

There was no electricity in the building.

Montreal Police (SPVM) are investigating.
