EDMONTON — RCMP in Edson say they don’t know if anyone was injured when an officer shot at a vehicle during an investigation Saturday morning.
Officers were called to the local Walmart around 8:40 a.m. to investigate a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot. RCMP say an “incident occurred which resulted in an officer discharging their firearm.” At this point it’s not known how many shots were fired.
The truck, which RCMP say was stolen, left the scene. Police are now searching for either a Ford or Dodge 3/4 ton white pick-up truck.

Officers said Saturday afternoon they didn’t know how many people were inside the truck or if they were injured in the shooting. It’s also not known if the truck was damaged.
Anyone who sees a vehicle matching the description is asked to contact the RCMP or their local police service.
The director of law enforcement for Alberta has been made aware of the incident. The RCMP Major Crimes unit out of Edmonton is heading to the scene to assist in the investigation.
No officers were injured in the incident.
