CALGARY- A Calgary courtroom heard details on Friday about a Mr. Big sting that unfolded during an investigation into the death of Meika Jordan.
Meika’s father, Spencer Jordan, and her stepmother, Marie Magoon, are accused of killing the six-year-old and are charged with first-degree murder. Meika died on Nov. 14, 2011 after paramedics found her at the bottom of the stairs in Jordan and Magoon’s home in Temple. A medical examiner has testified a combination of head and abdominal injuries led to Meika’s death.
As the third week of the six-week trial wrapped up, jurors heard how an undercover operation in which an officer pretends to be an organized crime boss, helped gather evidence from one of the accused.
On Friday, the judge was shown a video in which Spencer Jordan is seen in a meeting with the officer playing the role of a crime boss. Jordan is trying to earn the trust of the crime boss, but the officer says he has learned police are close to charging Jordan with murder and that he needs to know what happened to Meika.
“It’s not looking good for you,” said the officer. “They’re coming to arrest you.”

Jordan then opens up about his daughter’s death.
“I ended up taking a little bit of anger out on my daughter,” said Jordan. “More or less I just pushed her but I remember her falling back on our hard tile floors and she smoked her head pretty good.”
The more Jordan talks about the incident, the more detail he divulges.
“I hit her hard,” said Jordan. “I guess the best way to put it is I didn’t hold back.”
Kyla Woodhouse, Meika’s biological mother, said she was disturbed by the video played in court.
“To actually hear him speak and in his own words say what he did… it’s unbelievable,” said Woodhouse.
The undercover operation is in a voire dire, meaning the judge has yet to rule whether it can be admitted as evidence in the trial.
Meika died of blunt force trauma to her head. Her pancreas and liver were torn and she was badly burned.
The trial continues on Monday.
