Watch: Andrea Menard is on a mission to make the world a happier place. The Saskatchewan artist stopped by Global News to give a preview of her show at The Bassment.
SASKATOON – If you have had a bad day, Andrea Menard’s new album may just be the lift you require. Needing more positivity in her life, she created her latest album Lift exclusively with a positive message.
“We tend to be surrounded with music sometimes that tends to (make us) talk about our pain. And I was done and I decided to play joyful music because I needed a lift in my life,” explained Menard.

As well as a musician, Menard is an actor, writer and ambassador. Her latest project, The Music Messenger, is a business to promote other artists with similar messaging.
“It sort of happened because of this album. Robert and I wrote this uplifting album and thought ‘what did we just create?’ So I coined the term The Music Messengers to describe the change happening in certain musicians’ hearts which is saying: I want to take responsibility for my creations. I want to bring joy to the world.”
Although her career now has her based out of Vancouver, the Flin Flon, Man. born artist still describes herself as a Saskatchewan girl who is glad for opportunities to promote her message in the province.
Menard will be playing at The Bassment in Saskatoon Friday at 9 p.m.
