EDMONTON — A man in his 20s was taken to hospital in serious, but stable condition after being shot in the leg in west Edmonton on Saturday.

The shooting happened around 2:30 p.m. near 149 Street and 108 Avenue. Police think the man was shot nearby, and made his way to where he was found.

“We’ve checked some video and our victim was at the Royal [Western] Motel shortly before the shooting,” said acting Insp. Warren Driechel, Edmonton Police Service. “We’re still going through the video, we don’t know if that was actually captured on there or if that was where the shooting occurred.”

Police are looking for a black Cadillac Escalade SUV that was seen leaving the scene when officers pulled up. Police are not sure if the driver was a suspect, or the person who called 911. Anyone with information is asked to contact EPS or Crime Stoppers.
