Major cocaine bust in Rosetown, Sask.

SASKATOON – A cooperative police investigation has yielded a major drug bust in Rosetown, Sask. Officers conducted a vehicle stop on March 21 and arrested two Saskatoon men.

In the early morning, cocaine weighing 672 grams and 138 grams of marijuana were seized. The Prince Albert integrated street enforcement team (ISET) says the approximate street value of the cocaine is $60,000.

Police believe the drugs were destined for multiple communities in Saskatchewan.

Both of the accused, ages 19 and 25, are facing charges of possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.

The 19-year-old man is also charged with possession of stolen property.

They made their first court appearance Monday in Saskatoon provincial court.

The week-long investigation was conducted by ISET and the combined forces special enforcement unit (CFSEU), with assistance from Warman and Rosetown RCMP.
