TORONTO — Of all the tributes to actor Paul Walker, this one is likely the most lasting.
Walker’s Fast & Furious co-star Vin Diesel said Monday he and longtime girlfriend Paloma Jimenez named their newborn daughter Pauline.
“He was in the room,” Diesel said of Walker, who died in 2013. “There’s no other person that I was thinking about as I was cutting this umbilical cord.
“I just … knew he was there.”
Diesel revealed the tribute during an appearance on Today to promote Furious 7, the latest chapter in the franchise and the last big screen appearance for Walker.

“I felt like, you know, a way to keep his memory a part of my family and a part of my world,” Diesel explained.
At a preview screening of Furious 7 in Los Angeles on March 16, Diesel choked up when talking about Walker.
“When the tragedy happened, I lost my best friend. I lost my brother,” he said.
Walker, 40, and his friend Roger Rodas, 38, were killed when the Porsche GT they were in lost control and crashed in November 2013. The star was a passenger in the car, which burst into flames.
Pauline is the third child for Diesel and Jimenez.
Furious 7 opens April 3.
