His trial is now set to start on July 13 in Kelowna.

Ryan was scheduled to be tried in Vernon in early March but the case was adjourned at the request of defense council.

Hampton’s lawyer had raised concerns about the trial being held in Vernon because it would mean Hampton would be held in custody at his former workplace.

Hampton left the RCMP after he was suspended from the force following his arrest in June 2013.
