The mauling seriously injured the 26-year-old Calgarian, leaving her in need of stitches and skin grafts.

The Crown is asking for a sentence of seven years, arguing Philip hasn’t shown any remorse and that the victim’s injuries are serious and permanent.

The defence, however, says the attack was out of character for Philip – and points out she has no criminal record. They are asking for no more time served in pre-trial, which amounts to 13 months, along with probation.
