REGINA – Thousands of people across Canada took to the streets to protest the federal government’s anti-terrorism Bill C-51.
In Regina, more than one hundred people gathered downtown Saturday morning at City Square Plaza.
“I would like to see this bill torn down into each individual piece and looked at individually,” said event coordinator Crystal Giesbrecht.

“I’m not saying the whole bill is bad. There are some good things in it. But you can’t accept one or two good things and two dozen other bad things. It’s not worth the risk, nor the cost.”

Bill C-51 would give police broader powers to detain terror suspects and give new powers to Canada’s spy agency.
A similar protest was held in Saskatoon.
