Caught by photo radar, Alberta man shoots box to destroy evidence:court

LETHBRIDGE, Alta. – A southern Alberta man who shot a photo radar box, narrowly missing a boy, has been sentenced to three years in prison.

Forty-three-year-old Adolph Reimer of Lethbridge pleaded guilty several months ago to firing three shots at a photo radar unit.

He said he was driving faster than the speed limit on a street in Lethbridge and shot at the box trying to destroy the evidence.

But one of the shots hit a passing truck and just missed a boy who was a passenger in the vehicle.

The City of Lethbridge has filed a claim seeking $45,000 in damage to the photo radar box.
