CALGARY – It’s the end of era on the so-called red mile.
After more than 20 years, an iconic 17th avenue hot spot is being demolished.
Demolition began this morning on the remaining portion of the Melrose Café and Bar.

The restaurant officially closed in January 2014.
One half of the space has already been replaced by a bakery but now work is set to begin on ‘Trolley Five’ a brewery and restaurant.
The demolition is expected to take about three weeks.
‘Trolley Five ‘is scheduled to open in the beginning of next year.
