TORONTO – A California woman was arrested on suspicion of robbery after she was caught on camera fighting with a nail salon owner.
An argument started inside the Excellent Nail Spa in Lancaster, when Tawana Davis asked for her young daughter’s nails to be painted and the salon’s owner refused, believing the little girl was too young to get her nails done.
A policy visible on a wall states, “We have the right to refuse service to anyone,” but the refusal angered Davis.
“I continued to go back and forth with her about why everyone ignored the request that I had made,” Davis told CBS.

During the debate, Davis grabbed a bottle of nail polish.
Released surveillance video shows that owner Kathy Nguyen tried to take back the bottle. Davis, who was carrying her daughter at the time, blocked her. That’s when the situation escalated.
The taller Davis began throwing punches and pulling Nguyen’s hair while the salon owner backed her up against a wall. Eventually, Nguyen can be seen on the floor grappling with Davis. Davis, attempting to kick Nguyen, is heard saying, “Let me go.”
Officers from the Lancaster Station Sheriff’s Department eventually arrived and arrested Davis on suspicion of robbery. But Davis insists she didn’t take anything and has hired an attorney to file a lawsuit.
An investigation is ongoing, according to CBS.
