TORONTO – Toronto is under another extreme cold warning Thursday.
Environment Canada issued the notice shortly after 10:30 a.m. warning a “frigid arctic airmass” will combine with light winds making it feel like – 35 degrees Celsius with the wind chill late Thursday and Friday morning.
The weather agency warns the extreme cold could harm vulnerable people including those experiencing homelessness, people who work outdoors, people in poorly insulated homes, infants and people with certain medical conditions like diabetes.
Environment Canada cautions people to dress appropriately before heading outside.
February has been unseasonably cold month with two low-temperature records broken this week.
The city of Toronto has issued 33 extreme cold weather alerts during the winter of 2014-2015, three less than the total for all of 2013-2014.
