KETCH HARBOUR, NS – One man faces charges of uttering threats after some tense moments at an oceanside Ketch Harbour home Wednesday night.
Halifax Regional Police responded to Basinview Road around 7:55 p.m. after receiving a call about an unwanted person.
Police learned a male inside a home had made threats and attempted to access a firearm. Officers surrounded the home and brought in the Emergency Response Team and K9 unit.
Officers also closed down Ketch Harbour Road, forcing some drivers to make the long detour around the Sambro Loop.
After about one hour, two men were called out of the home by police. Both were taken into custody, but one was released. The other, a 47-year-old male, is currently in custody and will face a charge of uttering threats.
Police seized several firearms during the incident, although no weapon-related charges have been laid. The investigation is still ongoing.
