Driver arrested for impaired driving after crash in Vaughan

TORONTO – A 23-year-old man has been arrested for impaired driving following a two-vehicle collision that sent another man to hospital with life-threatening injuries early Wednesday morning.

The crash happened around 5:30 a.m. on Highway 7 near Thornhill Woods Drive west of Bathurst Street.

York Regional Police say the 23-year-old driver who caused the crash was arrested for impaired driving causing bodily harm.

The 52-year-old man in the other vehicle was transported to hospital where he remains in life-threatening condition.

The area is currently closed for the police investigation which has caused a significant traffic backlog in the area.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
