Lethbridge woman charged with second-degree murder

LETHBRIDGE – Police have laid charges against a 21-year-old woman in connection with a suspicious death on Monday.

Officers were called to a house the 300 block of 19th Street North around 3 a.m. for reports of a woman with injuries. When they arrived, investigators found a woman dead inside the home.

A short time later, police took several people into custody during a traffic stop along the 200 block of 13th Street North.

On Tuesday, police announced 21-year-old Julie-Ann Nicky Agerskov of Lethbridge had been charged with second-degree murder. She has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on March 9th, 2015.

“Our investigation has revealed that these two are known to each other . So it was obvious not a random attack ,” says Staff Sgt. Scott Woods with the Lethbridge Regional Police.

“There is a common person at the resident that they both were acquaintance’s with.”

The victim has been identified as 43-year-old Katheline Amber Buck of Coaldale, Alberta.

Investigators believe Buck and Agerskov had been at an acquaintance’s home when a physical altercation ensued over a past dispute resulting in Buck’s death.
