Power restored after 5,000 Winnipeg homes left in dark

WINNIPEG – An overnight power outage in south Winnipeg caused by a hydro pole fire was fairly short.

The pole caught fire at about 2:45 a.m., causing outages in Tuxedo, south River Heights and north Fort Garry. It left 5,000 Manitoba Hydro customers in the dark.

Power was restored to all customers at around 5 a.m.
