Funerals will be held tomorrow for two Saskatchewan toddlers who died in a house fire Tuesday on the Makwa Sahgaiehcan First Nation.
Fundraisers have been set up to offer support to the family of the two-year-old boy and an 18-month-old girl.
The First Nation had hired the volunteer fire department in a neighbouring village, but was cut off after it stopped paying its firefighting bills.
Saskatchewan’s child advocate is calling on aboriginal and government leaders to work together to improve fire safety on reserves.
