Thursdays are the new Fridays for a growing number of workers whose employers have switched to a "4-10" workweek — that is, four days at 10 hours each. The unconventional arrangement is finding renewed favour as evidence mounts that it leads to less absenteeism, lower operating costs and a reduced environmental footprint, not to mention three-day weekends, every weekend.
