WATCH: A 57-year-old man is recovering from serious injuries tonight after he was badly burned in an explosion and fire at his Abbotsford home. When firefighters arrived, they were stunned to find out, he’s one of them. Ted Chernecki reports.
A 57-year-old man has been severely injured following an explosion on his Abbotsford property this morning.

Police and fire crews found the victim, who happens to be a firefighter, at a property in the 31200-block of Harris Road at 8:50 a.m. He was airlifted to the hospital with serious injuries.
Abbotsford police said the investigation is in its early stages and appears there was an explosion and fire on the property.
Major crime detectives and forensic investigators were at the scene today, looking for explosives and trying to determine if everything is safe.
