N.S. man out of running to live on Mars

HALIFAX – A young Sackville man trying to become one of the first people to live on Mars is no longer in the running.

Tyler Reyno had been in the running for Mars One, a campaign to colonize the Red Planet that also came with a one-way ticket.

He had made the shortlist but, on Monday, Mars One released the list of the final 100 candidates.

Reyno did not make the cut; no other Nova Scotian did.

Seven Canadians are now in the last and final round of the selection process: Daniel Criger of Waterloo, Ont.; James Berdahl of Whitehorse, Yukon .; Reginald Foulds of Toronto; Andreea Radulescu of Toronto; Joanna Hindle of Whistler, B.C.; Karen Cumming of Burlington, Ont.; and Susan Weinreich of Vancouver, B.C.

The final 100 candidates will now receive training in a copy of the Mars outpost.
