Travelers can expect delays Monday on the Trans Canada Highway heading to Alberta while crews continue to remove unstable snow that threatens to fall on the roadway.
The avalanche risk through out much of the province is high from significant recent snowfall. In some places the snow is up to 3m deep.

The route east of Revelstoke through Glacier National Park has been most affected by the threat of avalanche.
Crews are performing avalanche control 43 km east of Revelstoke to 52 km east of Revelstoke between 10:30 am to 11:00 am Monday, shutting down Highway 1 in both directions during that time. The highway will re-open by 12 noon Monday.
The Trans Canada was closed between Revelstoke and Golden Sunday for 10 hours because of the high risk of avalanche.
Near Boston Bar, crews worked Sunday to remove a rock slide that came down on Highway 1.
All other mountain highways in BC are open, but report compact, slushy and slippery conditions.
