WATCH: Nebraska family fighting to keep blind pet goat

Gizmo the goat was born blind, rejected by his own mother and trampled by his herd, leaving his hind legs disabled.

When David and Rebecca Williams saw the baby goat on a farm, they were captivated and decided adopt him and bring him to their Neligh, Nebraska home.

However, an ordinance bans goats from entering the city limits and the Williams family is hoping city council will make an exception or change the ordinance altogether.

“We’re hoping that they will lift the ban for us to at least keep him for [his] special needs,” David Williams told KTIV.

Rebecca Williams added that Gizmo is house trained and would not thrive outdoors because of his blindness.

“He’s just super sweet, and I think anybody that meets him will just fall in love with him,” she said.

The Williams family is hoping they will gather enough signatures to petition city council to let them keep their beloved goat.
