Canadian Dustin Cook wins super-G silver at world alpine ski championship

BEAVER CREEK, Colo. – Canadian Dustin Cook made a surprise run from the back of the field to capture a silver medal in the super-G at the world alpine ski championship Thursday.

The Ottawa native finished second behind Hannes Reichelt of Austria in one minute 15.79 seconds.

Adrien Theaux of France was third.

Cook’s best finish on the World Cup circuit this season was 12th in Val Gardena.
