WATCH: Dramatic dashcam video captures horrifying final seconds of TransAsia Airways flight

TORONTO – Dramatic dashcam video captured the final seconds of a TransAsia Airways flight as it banked sharply on its side, clipped a van on an elevated roadway and plunged into a river.

The turboprop was carrying 58 people when it crashed shortly after takeoff in Taipei, killing at least 32 people.

Fifteen people were rescued from the Keelung River, while 11 passengers remain missing.

Several video clips were posted online, showing Flight GE235 with its wings completely vertical before one wing clipped a taxi and the plane headed in to the river.

The driver and a passenger of the taxi were injured and taken to hospital.

Local media speculated the pilot may have banked sharply to avoid crashing into a high-rise residential area nearby.

Taiwan’s aviation authority said it had no evidence of that, the Associated Press reported.

It is unknown what caused the crash.
