A woman in her late 30s has been airlifted to hospital in critical condition after a serious crash in Whistler Sunday morning.
Whistler RCMP say a northbound car on Highway 99 near Nordic slid into the southbound lane, colliding with an oncoming van.
“The driver of the car has been taken to the local clinic with critical injuries, and is being airlifted out for treatment,” said Whistler RCMP Sgt. Rob Knapton in a statement, adding that the two occupants of the van were uninjured.
Knapton says it was snowing at the time but investigators are still determining the cause of the crash.
Investigators are on scene and traffic is reduced to single-lane alternating.
