TORONTO — Celebrity stylist Brad Goreski said Friday no one should take it personally if he slams their red carpet look on an episode of Fashion Police.

“It’s only my opinion of what I’m seeing,” he said during an appearance on Global’s The Morning Show.

“You know, what works on one person. If that style floats their boat, who am I to say that it’s right or wrong? I can say that it’s not my taste but that doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s bad.”

Goreski, 37, said the show is designed to be a fun, entertaining look at fashion.

“I have very strong opinions about what I think works and doesn’t work on the carpet,” he admitted, “but I try to back it up with expertise.”

Goreski, who hails from Port Perry, Ont., acknowledges not everyone likes what he choose to wear — and some of his outfits have landed him on the “Worst Dressed” pages of celebrity magazines.

“They’re hanging up on my grandmother’s wall in her assisted living facility in Port Perry,” said Goreski.

Fashion, he added, is about taking chances.

“I can’t be the person who critiques fashion without taking risks and I can’t also push my clients in that direction and say ‘you need to do something different’ if I’m just showing up in a black tux to every single thing.”

Goreski, whose fiance is TV producer Gary Janetti (Family Guy, Will & Grace), has styled famous clients like Jessica Alba, Rashida Jones and Sarah Hyland.

“The right dress finds the right girl,” he explained. “It doesn’t matter if it’s from a really well-established Parisien house that’s been around for hundreds of years or a brand new New York designer who’s just shown their first collection.”

Goreski said he loves being in a position to give designers a global spotlight.

“I can help out any young designers or new designers kind of get that moment and launch their careers, then I’m very happy to do so.”
