EDMONTON — A 16-year-old Edmonton girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by a man who police say posed as a photographer for a teen magazine. Investigators are concerned there may be more victims out there.
The 52-year-old approached the teen on the LRT by the Coliseum Transit Centre at about 11 a.m. on Jan. 22. He reportedly told her he’d like to take pictures of her for the teen magazine.
Around 11 p.m. that evening, the girl met the man at a downtown apartment in the area of 104 St. and 98 Ave. She later told police she was sexually assaulted.
Peter Malko, who may also go by the name Peter McCormack, has since been charged with sexual assault, sexual exploitation and uttering threats.
Police have released his photo as they believe there may be other young women Malko approached. He’s a white male with dyed red hair, which is naturally grey. He’s about 5’6″ tall, weighs roughly 160 lbs and has dark-rimmed glass and blue eyes.
Malko is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 25.
