A woman who is reportedly the largest plus-size model to be signed by a major modelling agency is on a mission to change the perception of beauty standards.
Tess Holliday, also know as Tess Munster, describes herself as a body-positive activist and has started a movement to help women improve the way they see themselves. Her hashtag, #EffYourBeautyStandards, has been used by fans and celebrities alike and has been steadily gaining momentum online.
Her website says she was forced to drop out of school at the age of 17 due to severe bullying. She worked in the beauty industry as a makeup artist and hair stylist before breaking into modelling. She is short by model standards, at 5’5″ and is a size 22.
The model has fired back at criticism online.
And has people thanking her for helping them shed their body image.
Holliday is represented by MiLk Model Management and been featured in Vogue Italia and Inked Magazine.
