REGINA – There was a scary incident outside the main entrance of the Regina General Hospital Wednesday night.
Police were called out at 8:25 p.m. for a report that a man pointed a sawed-off firearm at a male hospital employee.
The suspect fled on foot before police arrived, but the victim was able to describe the suspect’s clothing.
Police arrested a 17-year-old male in the area of 14th Avenue and Broad Street. The teen was taken into custody without incident and a search found he was carrying an unloaded sawed-off shotgun.
The teen is facing a total of eight charges, including Pointing a Firearm, and Use of a Firearm in the Commission of an Indictable Offence.
He will make his first court appearance in Regina on Thursday.
