WINNIPEG – Gunmen shot and killed a dog during a home invasion in West Kildonan Tuesday.
Police were called to the 200 block of McAdam Avenue at about 4:00 am after neighbours heard gunshots.
Officers say four armed men, with their faces covered, forced their way into the home and at some point during the attack fired a gun which killed a dog. They fled shortly after.
There were no other injuries.
“Whether (the shooting) was intentional or not, whether they were planning committing further robbery or assault against the residents is not known,” Winnipeg Police Service Cst. Eric Hofley said Tuesday.
Police are asking for tips from the public that could lead to the arrest of the attackers: call police at (204) 986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-TIPS (8477).
