HALIFAX – Mild temperatures and green grass will disappear this week, with heavy snowfall and dropping temperatures in the forecast.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement describing the looming storm.

“Most of the province will see significant amounts of snow accompanied by very strong winds,” the statement warns.

The winter storm will likely hit Nova Scotia Tuesday and may carry over into Wednesday as well.

“The public is advised to monitor future forecasts and warnings as warnings may be required or extended,” states the Environment Canada release.
