The RCMP is appealing to the community of Prince Rupert for any information after a First Nations mask taken was stolen from a display case on board a BC Ferry.

On Jan. 6 at about 8:40 p.m. Prince Rupert RCMP responded to a report of a First Nations carving of a mask had been stolen from the Northern Expedition BC Ferries.

The artwork had was stolen from a display case in an area of the ferry that had been closed to the public several days before the theft.

The investigation is ongoing but the Prince Rupert RCMP is asking anyone with information regarding the theft to contact the detachment or Crime Stoppers.
