Man approaches paramedics outside hospital with gunshot wound

CALGARY- A man in his early 20’s is in hospital recovering from a gunshot wound.

Police say the man was taken to the Rockyview Hospital at about 11:30 a.m. Saturday morning.

The victim approached an EMS crew in the ambulance bay suffering from serious, potentially life threatening injuries to his upper body.

The paramedic crew initiated preliminary medical interventions, before escorting the man into the emergency department.

The man was stabilized and transported to the Foothills Hospital where he underwent surgery.

The driver who brought the victim to hospital was questioned by police.

Police say they are still unclear as where the shooting happened and the motive.

Police say they don’t believe this shooting is connected to any other recent shootings in Calgary this month.
