HALIFAX – Police are investigating after a 61-year-old woman was hit by a car that was rear-ended in Halifax on Friday afternoon.
At 1:20 p.m., police say the woman was struck while crossing in a marked crosswalk at the exit of the roundabout at Agricola Street and Cunard Street.
The car that hit the woman had stopped but was struck from behind by a cargo van, which pushed it into the woman.
She suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.
The 35-year-old male driver of the van was issued a ticket for following too closely, which carries a fine of about $234.
