TORONTO – The opening round of the CFL playoffs drew plenty of television interest Sunday.
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats’ 52-44 overtime win over the Montreal Alouettes in the East Division semifinal attracted an average audience exceeding 1.6-million viewers on TSN and RDS, according to overnight data from BBM Canada. That made the CFL contest the second-most watched television program on Sunday following The Amazing Race, which drew 2.3-million viewers on CTV.

The audience for the Hamilton-Montreal game peaked at three-million viewers, TSN added.
The Edmonton Eskimos’ 33-19 West Division semifinal win over the Calgary Stampeders drew an average of 1.4 million viewers while more than 7.1 million Canadians watched some CFL playoff action.
