Milgaard had been accused of assault, assault with a weapon and uttering threats.
Court heard the couple were arguing over their son when Milgaard threatened his wife, Cristina, with a knife.
Milgaard, who spent 23 years in prison for a murder he didn’t commit, says he is happy that he can go home.
The couple had indicated they were anxious to reconcile.
The judge ordered Milgaard to take psychological, marital and parental counselling.
