The damage is being assessed after a fire in a building on a Saskatchewan First Nation that houses both the band office and the RCMP detachment.
No one was hurt in the morning fire that broke out on the second floor of the structure on the Montreal Lake First Nations, about 245 kilometres north of Saskatoon.
RCMP say the flames were contained to the same floor and were put out in less than an hour.
Police say crews had to scramble from two outside fire departments, including the one at Waskesiu in Prince Albert National Park, because the band has no department of its own.
Four Mounties are stationed at Montreal Lake, which is a community detachment of the Waskesiu RCMP office.
