VANCOUVER – A deportation order has been issued for a former leader of the United Nations gang. Barzan Tilli-Choli was convicted of plotting to murder the Bacon brothers.

He was also involved in a string of other violent incidents aimed at rival gang members, including a shooting outside a Surrey strip club in April, 2009.

Tilli-Choli pleaded guilty in the murder plot a year and a half ago and is serving time in Kent Institution. He is a citizen of Iraq, however the federal government is not currently sending people to that country because of instability.

Tilli-Choli could be in legal limbo for some time after he’s released from jail.
