TORONTO — Actor and comedian Taylor Negron, who had dozens of roles on TV and in movies, lost his battle with cancer Saturday. He was 57.

The sad news was confirmed by his cousin, musician Chuck Negron.

“His mother, his brother Alex and my brother and his wife were all there with him,” he said in a video posted online. “May he rest in peace.”

Taylor Negron was born in California and got an early start in show business. In addition to performing stand-up comedy while still a teenager, he worked as Lucille Ball’s intern. He landed parts on TV and broke onto the big screen in films like Young Doctors in Love and Fast Times at Ridgemont High.

He worked steadily, including recurring roles on The Hughleys and So Little Time.
