More school closures in B.C. Tuesday, Jan. 6, due to snow

VANCOUVER – More schools are closed in B.C. on Tuesday due to the snow and winter weather.

School will be closed in the:

  • Central Okanagan, (SD 23)
  • Kamloops / Thompson (SD 73)
  • North Okanagan-Shuswap (SD 83)
  • Vernon (SD 22)
  • Okanagan College – Salmon Arm and Revelstoke Centre will be closed today. Kelowna campus, Penno and Acland Road facilities will be closed until noon today.
  • Hope – Fraser Cascade School District (78). Schools are open in Agassiz, Boston Bar and Harrison.
  • Williams Lake (SD 27)
  • 100 Mile House (SD 27)

Schools open, but no buses running in:

  • Quesnel (SD 28)
  • Vanderhoof (SD 91)

A snow day was in effect for many communities across the province on Monday after heavy snowfall made driving and even walking dangerous for students.
