Captain America has battled Nazis, saved New York from an alien invasion, and even snagged a kiss from Scarlett Johansson.

But the coolest thing Cap’s ever done may be his recent trip to surprise a little boy battling brain cancer.

This past September, nine-year-old Kenny Botting underwent surgery as part of his ongoing battle with brain cancer.

Since then, he’s been staying at Christopher’s Haven in Boston, Massachusetts, while he undergoes treatment across the street at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Oh, and he happens to be a huge Captain America fan – there’s even a poster of the star-spangled super soldier on the wall of Kenny’s room.

This past Monday, the young boy got the surprise of a lifetime when Captain America himself, actor Chris Evans, dropped by Christopher’s Haven for a surprise visit.

Evans has portrayed Cpt. Steve Rogers in both Captain America films, as well as in the blockbuster superhero team-up The Avengers.

His most recent outing behind Cap’s shield came earlier this year in the critically and commercially acclaimed Captain America: The Winter Solider.

The actor was in town to promote an upcoming fundraiser at Boston’s Fenway Park in support of Christopher’s Haven when he decided to make the surprise visit.

“No matter what hurdles are in my life it’s nothing compared to what these families go through, so any way I can bring a smile it’s worth it,” Evans told WBZ-News in Boston.

As for Kenny, he says he was blown away by Evans’ visit.
