Sask. RCMP bust Calgary man with duffle bag of marijuana

SWIFT CURRENT, Sask. – Saskatchewan RCMP arrested a Calgary man last week with a duffle bag full of marijuana. On Dec. 18, a roving traffic unit pulled over a vehicle for a speeding violation east of Swift Current, Sask.

During the traffic stop on Highway 1, members determined there were grounds to believe the driver was in possession of drugs. A search of the vehicle yielded 14 pounds of marijuana.

The 41-year-old man was charged for possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking. He is scheduled to appear in provincial court on March 2015.

Swift Current is approximately 220 kilometres south of Saskatoon.
