TORONTO – Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for southern Ontario due to “un-Christmas-like” weather for the first few days of winter.
The weather office says mild and rainy weather is expected to persist Tuesday and on Christmas eve due to a developing low pressure system moving over the American midwest and towards the Great Lakes.
Some freezing rain is possible in eastern Ontario before milder conditions arrive late Tuesday.
Those looking for a white Christmas will be disappointed as most regions will be too warm for snow to develop.
